Renowned photojournalist, John Isaac, worked at the United Nations in New York. Sickened by the violence and destruction after three decades of covering every major international war since the 1970s, John decided to focus on his first love, the natural world. Well-known as a wild-life photographer, John also enjoys macro images of nature: flowers, birds, bees, decay, as well as sweeping images of landscapes and waterscapes. At present, he is collaborating in a large ILO project to document all kinds of labour across the US, from miners, to bead workers, indigenous craft workers, factory and medical workers, bakers, etc. It has been an honour for Coonoor to collaborate with him on The Troubles of Tigers: The Story of Tippu, a fictional work, inspired by his tiger images.
