Layla Mohamed is a British fine artist as well as a yoga
practitioner, based in London. After graduating in Fine Art from Oxford Brookes University, with a specialization in painting, Layla evolved from using brash colours and depicting fantastical creatures in strange landscapes, to refined illustrative figures and text. Her work is now inspired by calligraphy, graffiti and Expressionism; which explains her use of jagged and curved black lines. Layla lent her trademark jagged lines to illustrate Coonoor’s book, Let’s Do Yoga (2013), for children. Layla’s minimalist linear illustrations clearly depict each asana (pose) described in the book.
